The LLWCID is the State authorized governing body that oversees the operation and use of Lytle Lake in southeast Abilene.  A five member Board of Directors, elected from the property owners that adjoin the lake, makes the decisions that direct the operations of the District.  Daily maintenance and administrative services are managed by the West Central Texas Municipal Water District.  LLWCID provides the residents of Lytle Lake with a beautiful environment in which to live and recreate.
Control of Lytle Lake transferred for West Texas Utilities to the LLWCID in 2001.  The largest improvement project undertaken by the District has been dredging the lake bottom to remove silt and debris.  The dredge project was completed in the spring of 2009, resulting in substantially deeper water throughout the lake.  Click here to see a map of the current water depths.  To see a map of the watershed that feeds Lytle Lake, click here.
